The La Porte ISD School Board approved a contract with PBK Architects and a design for a new elementary school at their January workshop meeting. The design was approved after a district committee visited another campus with a similar plan already constructed by PBK. The committee held meetings to make adjustments in the building to meet our needs and size requirements. Meetings were also held with various departments. The architects and the School Board expressed their appreciation to the District Design Committee.

The School Board also appointed the initial members of the Citizens Oversight Committee. This group will provide regular reports to the School Board and district taxpayers on the projects and spending from the 2005 Bonds.
