Spelling Bee Winners Announced
| Friday, February 3rd, 2006 |
 La Porte ISD District Spelling Bee was held on Friday, February 3, 2006.
First place winner was Joshua Block, 5th grader at Jennie Reid Elementary. Second place winner was Victoria Underwood, 5th grader at Rizzuto Elementary.
There were 11 rounds before winners emerged. The word "chancellor" was the tie breaker. Joshua was successful. He then spelled "chandelier" to become the District’s spelling bee champion.
