Dear Parents,

Please be aware that there were three incidents last week, involving two different schools, where men in vans have alarmed students while they are alone at their bus stops. All three incidents occurred before school. All three students have reported that these vans are occupied by 2-3 Hispanic males and that the vans were either white or brown. The police are aware of these incidents.

While all three of these students are middle school age, we urge you to review and discuss safety measures with your children regardless of their age or sex.  It is important to include in these discussions the need to be aware of their surroundings, when they are isolated from others or when there is a presence of strangers. Please stress to them the importance of immediately reporting any suspicious activities or occurrences to both their parents and school personnel.
