On Tuesday, December 12th, the Board of Trustees overwhelmingly voted to name the new school Heritage Elementary. La Porte ISD has a rich heritage of worthy educators in its history. La Porte Independent School District's Heritage Elementary will be able to share that rich history with its students, parents and community. Many deserving educator's contributions to La Porte's rich history will be featured on plaques in the entry hallway of Heritage Elementary.

Heritage Elementary will open in August 2007. Ms. Danette Tilley will be the principal.
