Jennie Reid Elementary had a Nature Center workday on Saturday morning, April 21st, in honor of Earth Day and it was a great success! 45 parents, faculty staff, students and business partners came out to help weed the beds and plant flowers, shrubs and trees. Teamwork was the April Word of the Month and the work effort was a wonderful demonstration of teamwork.
Student Council sponsored this event and will also be planting a Bradford Pear tree this spring in honor of Jennie Reid's 25th anniversary. Special thanks to Wal-Mart in Pasadena for donating money, to Wal-Mart in Deer Park for donating plants and mulch, to All Seasons Nursery and Imperial Mulch for donating plants, and to Lowes for giving a discount on plants and trees. |
