"The Pawsomes" of Lomax Elementary recently competed in a national toy invention contest sposored by Sally Ride Science whose aim is to encourage young inventors to become interested in science and math endeavors . They cooperatively created the "Monkey-on-a-Stick" toy for kids from 4 years old to 99 years old!

The judging team was most impressed with the innovative toy and the proposal the students developed and researched. The competition judges, scientists and engineers across the USA, chose the team to advance to Nationals at the Qualcomm Center in San Diego to present and display their invention.

The team members include 5th graders: Brynna Farmacka; Shayna Morton; Stephanie Rubach; Cullen McDonald; Lane Pfeiffer; Koby Torres; and, Coach Suzanne Jones, Enrichment Specialist at LXE. Congratulations to an awesome team who deserves the best! Go Monkey-on-a-Stick!
