Summer School 2008 will be conducted in two sessions. Session One will be in June and will consist of focused TAKS tutoring for students that are required to re-test in TAKS during July. These students will be in grades 3, 4, 5, 8, and 11/12. (Note: 4^th grade students will not be required to test in July but have been recommended by their principals for extra tutoring during the summer.)

Session Two will be in July. This is the traditional summer school where we provide reading improvement instruction for 1^st and 2^nd graders, course remediation/credit recovery for 6-12^th grade students and initial credit acceleration opportunities for high school students (including rising ninth graders).

The district will also provide extended school year instruction for certain students that receive special services and for Limited English Proficient (LEP) students in Kindergarten and 1^st grade. These two groups of students and families will be notified by their campus of the dates, times, and procedures for your summer programs.
