Lomax Elementary Pawsomes compete in national TOYchallenge Competition
Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Congratulations to the Lomax Elementary Team, "The Pawsomes", who were invited to compete in the TOYchallenge Competition this spring. The team traveled to San Diego, CA with their sponsor, Mrs. Jones, to participate in the national competition, where their Monkey-on-a-Stick received Honorable Mention for Most Inspirational!

The TOYchallenge Competition is sponsored by Sally Ride Science and is a fun-fueled, inventors contest designed to encourage students to become scientists and engineers. Over 400 teams participated in the event and 48 were invited to compete in the Nationals on May 31st. The LXE team also won 5 round-trip airfare tickets from Southwest Airlines (SWA) to go to the contest. SWA and Grumman Aircraft strongly support and encourage young adults to participate in the competition while making their creation as they follow the process engineers use to problem solve.
