La Porte High School baseball player Aaron Spaugh has been selected by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association to the Academic All State Team. A 2008 LPHS graduate, Aaron participated in Bulldog baseball all 4 years and was an integral member of the pitching staff that helped the Dogs make a playoff run against Westbrook and Elkins this season. He had a record of 2-1 with a 3.15 ERA, and 2 saves, and he led the Bulldogs in innings pitched in the postseason with 10. He picked up a victory in game 3 of the bi-district round and was the starting pitcher in the opening game of the Area round against Elkins, a game the Dogs won.
Aaron plans to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Houston. He finished his academic career with a 4.67 GPA and was ranked 41 out of 506 seniors. Earlier this year, Aaron was also awarded The David Foundation Grant, Lyondell Engineering Scholarship, Galena Park Class of 57 scholarship, LPHS Baseball Booster Club scholarship and PPG Industries grant. David has a sister, Kelly, who is a graduate of Texas AM, and his proud parents are David and Donna Spaugh.
