The rules regarding baggy pants, over-sized clothing, students wearing one color of clothing on a consistent basis and clothing depicting association in a gang or secret society are intended to inhibit gang-related conduct. Gang related clothing will not be permitted in school or at any LPHS school events. Students not willing to be in compliance during LPHS school events will be asked to leave. LPISD is working closely with law enforcement specialists on identifying gang behavior in our area."

**If a student is in violation of the dress code or grooming standards, the parent will be contacted either by phone or student delivered copy.

**The principal or designee has the authority to determine the suitability of student dress.

The principal, in cooperation with the sponsor, coach, or other person in charge of an extracurricular activity, may regulate the dress and grooming of students who participate in the activity. Individual campuses may develop and enforce additional dress and grooming guidelines that meet the standards of the campus. These guidelines may be more restrictive than those prohibited by the district. However, these additional guidelines shall adhere to the general guidelines for the district and be developed with advice of the campus committee.
