Congratulations to the La Porte High School boys' basketball team, which defeated Channelview High School on Feb. 24  in the bi-district round of the playoffs.  The team will now advance to the area round, where the Bulldogs will face Fort Bend Bush High School.  The game will be played on Friday, Feb. 27, at Houston ISD's Barnett Field House.  The game start time is 7 p.m., and gates will open at 6:15 p.m.  Tickets will be sold at the gate for $4.

Only one entrance will be open at Barnett Field House, which is on the west side, or press box side, of the football stadium. The football stadium is positioned directly in front of the field house.  To get to Barnett Field House from La Porte, take TX-225W toward Houston.  Off of TX -225W, exit left I-610W onto I-610W.  Once on I-610W, go to exit #33 Woodridge/Telephone Rd.  Turn left on Telephone Rd., and then turn right on Golfway Street.  Once you are on Golfway, go to Tilfer Street and turn left on Tilfer. Go down Tilfer until you get to Fairway Drive and then take a right on Fairway Drive.  Go down Fairway Drive and you will see Barnett Stadium and Field House on the left.  Go to the second entrance, which will be the west side of the stadium and field house, to park your vehicle.
