Dear Parents,

This afternoon La Porte ISD received information from the University Interscholastic League (UIL) administration regarding interscholastic competitions.  Following the Texas Education Agency and Department of State Health Services recommendations with regard to school closings, the UIL is reinstating athletic competitions as of Thursday, May 7, and requiring district certifications for baseball playoffs by Tuesday, May 12.

Our district-leading La Porte Bulldogs baseball team needs to complete two games between now and May 12.  Therefore, LPISD Athletic Director Todd Schoppe and other district athletic directors will reschedule necessary games for this time period.  This information will be posted on our web site at www.lpisd.org as soon as it becomes available.

Beginning Monday, May 11, all other cocurricular and extracurricular activities may resume.   If you have any questions, please contact your school principal.

Estimados Padres,

Esta tarde La Porte ISD recibió información de la administración de la Liga Universitaria Interescolar (conocida por sus siglas en inglés como UIL) con respecto a las competencias interescolares. Siguiendo la Agencia de Educación de Texas y sus recomendaciones con respecto al cierre de escuelas, el UIL reintegra las  competencias atléticas empezando el jueves, 7 de mayo, y requerirá certificaciones de los distritos para los partidos de eliminatoria (playoffs) de béisbol para el martes, 12 de mayo.

Nuestro destacado equipo de béisbol los "bulldogs" de La Porte necesita completar dos partidos entre ahora y el 12 de mayo. Por lo tanto, el director atlético de La Porte ISD, Todd Schoppe y otros directores atléticos reprogramarán los partidos necesarios para este periodo de tiempo. Esta información será anunciada en nuestro sitio de Web   www.lpisd.org tan pronto como este disponible.

Empezando el lunes, 11 de mayo todas las demás actividades cocurriculares y extracurriculares podrán reanudarse. Si tiene algunas preguntas, por favor contacte a su director/a escolar.
