Cherie Steadman, left, of Heritage Elementary School and Debbie Seibert, right, of La Porte High School are named La Porte ISD’s Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year, respectively, during the district’s annual service awards celebration on May 13. Superintendent Lloyd Graham presented each of the honorees with a $5,000 check on behalf of Pat Studdert of Buffalo Marine Service, Inc., who has helped to make the announcement of the honorees even more special by providing a monetary award for the past 17 years. The event, which included the theme of “Night of the Golden Dragon,” was held in the LPHS Student Center and also honored Campus Teachers of the Year, retiring LPISD employees and employees with long-time service to the district. |
