Bill Snead was elected as the new president of the La Porte ISD Board of Trustees during the May 18 meeting of the Board.  Craig Hulcy was named as vice president, and Charlcya Wheeler was chosen as secretary.

  Wheeler, who was re-elected to Position 6 in the May 8 election, and new trustees Dee Anne Thomson and Lee Wallace took the oath of office.  Thomson was elected to Position 7, and Wallace was elected to Position 4. 

  Also at the meeting, Kathy Green, who has served as president of the Board for the past four years, read resolutions in honor of outgoing trustees Jim Schul and Gene Horn.  Green presented Schul, who served as vice president of the Board, with an engraved clock in recognition of his six years of service.  Horn, who was unable to attend the meeting, served on the Board from 2000 to 2007 and was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Board in January 2010.
