The La Porte Education Foundation will host its annual "Breakfast with the Stars" on Friday, Aug. 20, at 7 a.m. The event will be held at La Porte ISD's Heritage Elementary School, which is located at 4301 East Blvd.
The event spotlights LPISD educators who were recipients of innovative project grants awarded by the Foundation during the 2009-2010 school year.
Reserved tables are available at varying levels of sponsorship. Star Table sponsorships include the Solar Spectacular Table, $1,000; Universe Table, $750; Galaxy Table, $500; and Shooting Star Table, $300. Individual tickets are also available at $30 per person.
Grant recipients for 2009-2010 include Amanda Parker, Eva Sanders, Sandra Warren and Elizabeth Welsh, Bayshore Elementary; Debbie Alli, Jennifer Aron, Monica Chan, Cheryl Farris, Rhonda Jones, Ryan Lemmon, Audra Mazariegos, Latisha Peltier, Jessica Riggan, Annie Sargent, Deborah Shearer, Jana Stutzman, Laura Teepe, Melissa White and Kelly Yu, College Park Elementary; and Laura Garcia, Adriana Gonzalez, Debbie Herrera, Angie Hollman, Sheila Knittle, Kimberly Kouba, Jessica Long, Barbara Sader, Marci Traylor and Becky Wingstrom, Heritage Elementary.
The list of grant recipients also includes Melissa Cooke, Joan Glover, Dee Ann Hennessy, Nancy Ojeda, Beverly Reynolds, Jane Troxell and Katherine Wortham, Jennie Reid Elementary; Pamela Dunham, Ura Flores, Christie Glasco, Becky Joseph, Angela Mascorro and Luis Moreno, La Porte Elementary; Jensy Antony, Brenda Crager, Catherine Gaither, Denise Giroir Pool, Suzanne Jones, Lynne Moore and Lori Siltman, Lomax Elementary; and Donnis Barrett, Christine DeLong, Mona Gibbs and Denise Harrison-Fitzmaurice, Rizzuto Elementary.
Also awarded grants were Rebekah Amunson, Sherry Edwards, Yvonne Fisher, Kelly Sebelius and Crissy Stanley, Baker Sixth Grade Campus; Kathleen Breaux, Karan Lee and Jaclyn Scott, La Porte Junior High; Sharon Kamas, La Porte Junior High and Lomax Junior High; Kathleen Restrepo and Debbie Stewart, De Walt; Julie Ipsen, Joanne Kolius, Mark Reigert, Kimberly Ruter and Wesley Wallace, La Porte High School.
The La Porte Education Foundation awarded over 100 innovative project grants totaling more than $75,000 during the 2009-2010 grant cycle.
