La Porte High School football fans are encouraged to wear pink at the Oct. 22 home football game as part of Breast Cancer Awareness activities during the month of October.
According to Dana Tegeler, LPHS athletic trainer, the student athletic trainers sold pink T-shirts to raise money for breast cancer research. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and M.D. Anderson representative Amanda Harris will attend the game to accept the donation.
She added that the cheerleaders, Chatos, student athletic trainers and other organizations also will be wearing pink to show their support for the cause, and fans are urged to join in as well.
Tegeler Sports of Brenham, Texas, printed the Pink Night shirts and donated the pink wrist bands that will be worn by the ball boys, coaches and other school organizations.
The Oct. 22 game at Bulldog Stadium will feature the LPHS Bulldogs vs. the North Shore Mustangs. The game begins at 7 p.m.
