The La Porte High School boys’ cross country team represented the district well at the regional cross country meet held at Atascocita High School on Nov. 6. The team placed 12th out of 24 teams.
“I am very proud of how they competed as a team, being that this is the first time all but one had ever been to this meet,” said Zach Johnson, LPHS cross country coach. “I am very excited for the future and our future chances at qualifying for the state meet.”
The average time for the LPHS team was 17.24. Gustavo Aguilera took 21st place with a 5k personal record of 16.28. Times for other team members were Alex Mosley, 17.26; Cameron Avina, 17.35; Jordan Claypool, 17.35; AJ Padilla, 17.54; Eric Cantu, 18.04; and Wyssam Zaaban, 18.25. Alex, Cameron, Jordan and Wyssam also set personal records during the event. |
