Summer Program Expo for parents of gifted and high achieving students set for Jan. 13

The Houston Area Cooperative on the Gifted and Talented and the Southeast Cooperative for Gifted and Talented will present the Summer Program Expo on Thursday, Jan. 13, at Rice University’s Rice Memorial Center. The event, which will be held in the Grand Hall in the Student Center, will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

The Summer Program Expo will provide parents of gifted and high achieving students the chance to learn more about summer opportunities for their children. Representatives from various programs in the Houston area and beyond will be on hand to offer information to parents. Camps for all ages will be present; many cater to middle and/or high school students.

In addition, parents will hear information about applying for Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented $400 summer program scholarships. Students must be identified as gifted/talented to be eligible for scholarships.

Free parking is available in the Greenbriar Lot. To park in this lot, enter off Greenbriar Street at Entrance 13A or 13B. A shuttle bus will take riders to the Student Center from Bus Stop G approximately every 15 minutes.
Paid parking is available in the Central Campus Garage, underneath McNair Hall, which is Building 44 on the campus map. To park in the garage, enter off of Rice Boulevard at Entrance 20. Price is $1 every 15 minutes up to $11; a credit card is not required.

Food will also be available for purchase at the event.
