Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011
La Porte ISD continues to monitor the winter weather advisories for our area. Given that the 5 p.m. reports have accelerated the timeline for precipitation, La Porte ISD will release students from school two hours early on Thursday, Feb. 3.

School dismissal times for Thursday, Feb. 3, will be as follows:

Elementary Schools—1:10 p.m.

Baker Sixth Grade Campus—2 p.m.

Junior High Schools—1:45 p.m.

La Porte High School –12:30 p.m.

De Walt School—12:20 p.m.

In addition, all extracurricular activities for Thursday, Feb. 3, and Friday, Feb. 4, have been cancelled. This week’s performances of La Porte High School’s musical, Meredith Willson’s The Music Man, have been rescheduled for next week.

The district will continue to monitor weather forecasts in considering plans for Friday, Feb. 4. Although no final decision will be made until Thursday, if current forecast models are accurate, school closure on Friday will be likely. If the cancellation of school is necessary, this information will be posted on our web site (www.lpisd.org), and SafeSchoolsAlert.org, and local media will be alerted. Families will also be notified through our district call-out system.
