La Porte ISD will host a Dyslexia Parent Night on Thusrday, Feb. 24, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Instructional Technology Center, located at 9832 Spencer Hwy., adjacent to the Baker Sixth Grade Campus.

Parents are encouraged to join the campus dyslexia specialist and director of student support services as they discuss dyslexia characteristics, district procedures, helpful Web sites and dyslexia resources. Staff will be available to complete applications for a free Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic's institutional membership.

Door prizes will be awarded, and refreshments will be served.
