La Porte ISD's 2011 District Choral Festival will be held Thursday, March 31, at 7:15 p.m. in the Sonja Angelo Theater.

The event will feature the choirs from Baker Sixth Grade Campus, La Porte Junior High School, Lomax Junior High School and La Porte High School.

"Several of our LPISD choirs will be participating in UIL concert and sight reading contest over the next two weeks," said LPHS choir director Sandra Strickhouser. "In many cases, tonight is the first performance of these pieces in preparation for the contest."

In addition to Strickhouser, directors of the groups include Tracy Rider, Baker Sixth Grade Campus; Cynthia Jackson, Lomax Junior High School; and Criselda Bocanegra, La Porte Junior High School.
