Lady Dawgs Track Team Wins the Rockhold Relays

LPHS' Lady Dawgs Track Team won the
Rockhold Relays in Baytown this past Saturday scoring in every running event.
Brittany Mason was named the most outstanding athlete in the meet. Brittany won
the 100 Hurdles in 14.4 and the 300 Hurdles in 45.0. She also had a 59 400
split on the 4x400 relay that finished 2nd.
Other outstanding
performances came from Daisy Cantu—1st in the 3200 in 12:20 and
1st in the 1600 in 5:36; Haley Wright 1st in the 800
meters in 2:22 and 3rd in the 160. Jennifer Smith 2nd in
the 3200 and 5th in the 1600. Miesha Titus finished 2nd
in the 100 meters in 11.98 and 4th in the 400 meters and ran under 60
seconds on the 4x400 relay. April Graham was 3rd in the 100 Hurdles
and ran 1st leg on the 4x100 relay that finished 3rd.
Lisa Gonzales took 6th in the 300 Hurdles in 51.5 Divina Garcia
finished 3rd in the long jump at 16’6” and ran on the 4x100 R
(3rd) and 4x400 R (2nd) with a 61.4 split. Kylee Allen
finished 6th in the 400 and ran on the 4x400 relay that was
2nd. Samone Massey and Elizabeth Taylor ran on the 4x100 relay
(3rd) and 4x200 relays (4th). Nikki Kinnard and Brittany
Rosales ran on the 4x200 Relay (4th). Nadine Groce won the shot put
in 36’8” and finished 3rd in the discus with 107’9”.
The girls will
take this week off and get ready for the district meet next week in North
Shore.
