LPISD Graduate Wins the National Trumpet Competition

Eric Brown, a 2001 graduate of La Porte High School, has won the National Trumpet competition-college division. Eric is finishing up his Bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in Illinois. The competition was held at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. The competition website is www.nationaltrumpetcomp.org. By winning first place, he will receive a trumpet custom made to his specifications. Eric was the trumpet section leader and an All-State trumpet player in the La Porte High School Band.
