The varsity team won the District Meet last Friday at Northwest Park. The girls scored a low of 43 points compared to runner up Deer Park with 62 and Sam Rayburn with 63. It was a nice win especially with Deer Park beating us by 36 points the previous week. Jennifer Smith led the team finishing in first place in a time of 12:12 for the two mile course. Haley Wright was 4th, and freshman Lauren Hebert was 5th in her best race of the season. Daisy Cantu took 10th place and Bianca Panalez was 23rd to complete the varsity scoring. This marks the 16th straight year the girls have qualified for the regional meet. They have either won district or have been district runner up in every season. Also running on the varsity was Krystal Mouton and Megan Scott. The team will run this Saturday in the regional meet.
